1.8.0 — Uploads you can watch, and a sharper screen share
- New — An upload panel that tells you what is happening
Files now upload from a queue in a panel that stays with you as you move around Synchain, so you no longer have to sit on the files page and watch. Each file shows its progress, current speed and time left, says so when the network stops moving, and tells you when it retried. You can cancel one file or the whole queue. - New — Large files upload in pieces
Anything over about 10 MB is now sent in chunks instead of one long transfer. A chunk that fails is retried on its own rather than sinking the whole file, and any piece that never arrived is sent again before the file is assembled — so a shaky connection costs you a few seconds instead of the entire upload. With v1.8.0's follow-up, chunks now go out over up to 8 parallel lanes that adapt to your connection, so long-haul uploads finish several times faster. - New — Find out why your uploads fail
A new page at /upload-check, reachable from Settings, runs the upload path end to end from your own network and shows you which of the four steps breaks. If uploads work for your teammates but not for you, this is the page that says why — and gives you something concrete to send us. - New — Choose how your screen share degrades
Screen sharing now has a quality bias: Sharpness keeps the resolution and drops frames instead, which is what you want when someone is reading small text in your DAW; Smoothness gives up resolution first to keep motion fluid. There is also an experimental VP9 option. And the shared tile now carries a live badge with the resolution, frame rate and bitrate actually arriving, so "is it blurry for everyone or just my window" is finally answerable. - New — Creative Space closes itself when you are alone
If you are the only person in a room for five minutes, Synchain disconnects you instead of holding the connection open on a forgotten tab. A banner counts down for the last thirty seconds with a button to stay, and you can rejoin at any time. - Improved — Screen sharing looks much better out of the box
The default bitrate for 1080p at 30fps went from 2.5 to 5 Mbps, and when the network tightens the picture now falls back to 720p instead of 540p. Nothing to turn on — existing shares just look better. - Fixed — Reporting a problem no longer hangs on a blank screen
The screenshot that gets attached when you report a problem could freeze on a white image if anyone in the room had a camera or a screen share running. It now captures correctly, and if it cannot, the report still goes through without it.
1.7.0 — A new mark, and invite links that work

The new hand-drawn mark now shows up across the app, in your browser tab, on your phone's home screen, and on the card people see when you share a link. On mobile the address bar picks up the brand colour too. The Chinese site now carries the same English tagline as everywhere else. - Improved — Invite links that look like something
When you send someone a project invite, the card your chat app shows used to say “Sign In”. It now says plainly that this is a Synchain project invite. And when they open it, they can see who invited them, which project, and what they'd join as — before deciding whether to sign up. - Fixed — Voice control can reach these buttons now
The changelog button on the home page and the language switcher on mobile could not be activated by saying the words printed on them: the name they reported to assistive technology did not match their visible text. Both are fixed.
1.6.0 — Analytics and a privacy policy
- Security — Website analytics, and a way to say no
We now use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages get read. A card appears in the bottom-left corner on your first visit and you can simply decline — declining leaves the site fully working, it only stops the counting. In the EEA, the UK, Switzerland and Quebec nothing is sent at all until you accept. - New — Privacy policy
A new page setting out what we collect, why, who else touches it, which countries it travels to, and what you can ask us to do about it. Written in all three languages and linked from the footer.

Feedback you submit now moves through real states, and you get a notification when someone picks it up or resolves it — instead of it disappearing into a form. - Improved — Features, FAQ, Download and Use cases rewritten
All four guide pages were rewritten end to end and the top navigation was reworked so you can move between them in one click. - Fixed — The frosted-glass panels look right again in Chrome
A recent Chrome release stopped applying our blur, which left panels flat and hard to read against busy backgrounds.
1.3.1 — File dialog fix
- Fixed — The folder picker is no longer cut off
Moving a file or creating a folder in a deep tree clipped the destination list, so the folder you wanted could be impossible to reach.
1.3.0 — Likes in discussions
- New — Like a post or reply
Agree with a take without adding another comment. Authors get a notification, and the count is visible to everyone on the thread. - Fixed — No more warped lines across panels
Workspace panels showed faint distorted streaks over text and file rows on some machines. - Fixed — Project cards flip cleanly in Safari
The back of a card showed through mirrored mid-flip, and the favourite star could trigger a flip when it received keyboard focus.
1.2.0 — Built for the phone
- Improved — Discussions work properly on a phone
The composer stays within reach at the bottom of the screen while the thread header scrolls away with the content, so a small screen is mostly the conversation. - Improved — Move the Creative Space controls with your thumb
Drag the control bar up or down to wherever it suits you. Panels no longer jitter and the device check dialog fits the screen. - New — Switch language on a phone
The language switcher is now reachable on small screens from both the landing page and the sign-in screen. - Improved — Keyboard and screen reader improvements
Menus follow the expected keyboard model — arrow keys to move, Escape to close, focus returns where it came from — and avatars without a visible name now announce who they are.
1.1.0 — Clearer sign-up and sign-in
- Fixed — Sign-in tells you what is actually wrong
Signing in before confirming your email reported invalid credentials, which sent people off to reset a password that was never the problem. It now says the email is unconfirmed and offers to resend. - Improved — A stalled sign-up no longer blocks your email or username
If you started signing up and never confirmed, retrying with the same details works instead of telling you the account is taken.
